    Overview of the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosures

     By now, most of you are aware of the changes that will come into play effective August 1st as a result of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's new TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule. The rule is a result of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act and is designed to improve the way consumers receive information about mortgage loans and the fees associated with purchasing a home.

    The TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule mandates the use of two new disclosures, the Loan Estimate which will replace the Good Faith Estimate and the initial Truth in Lending Disclosure and the new Closing Disclosure which will replace the HUD-1 and the final Truth in Lending Disclosure.

     

    These disclosures and requirements will be effective October 1, 2015. This class is designed to give you an overview of the rule and the new forms and help you prepare for how these changes may affect the way you do business.
