FAQ’s

Do I have to know how to play poker to participate? No! Whether you’ve played more hands than you can count or never played a day in your life, there’s a seat at the table for you.

Can I come if I don’t want to play poker? OF COURSE! We would love to have you there, poker player or not! There is a social ticket option that grants you access to the event, open bar, food, photo booth, opportunities to network, play casino games, bid on the silent auction and so much more!

What time should I arrive? Doors will open at 5:00 PM for check-in. Poker play will begin at 6:00.

What is a re-buy? For the first 5 rounds of poker play, should you get knocked out early, you can choose to purchase a re-buy, which allows you to re-enter the game at a discounted buy-in price, with a new set of chips to keep playing. This will be available for purchase the night of the event.

What is an add-on? Before starting poker play, players can choose to purchase an add-on which gives those players an extra chips advantage. This will be available for purchase at check-in the night of the event.

What type of poker will be played? No Limit Texas Hold’em

Where can I find tips on how to play poker? Keith will be teaching a poker 101 class on September 8th from 5-7 at Vesta Settlements Ashburn to go over rules, tips, tricks, and lets be honest—vocabulary, so you can understand the jargon at the table.

Will there be prizes? Yes! Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 5 players at the end of the tournament.

Dress code? Come country club casual. Jeans are allowed.

Will there be registrations at the door? Those wanting to attend last minute can purchase a social ticket at the door, however poker players must be pre-registered to play.

Will there be other games at the event? This year we are bringing some fun, new additions to the event; including: casino games! Social attendees and poker players that have lost at the table can enjoy blackjack, roulette and craps games, just for fun.

Will there be food and beverage? Yes! Enjoy an open bar serving wine, beer, and liquor, as well as food available throughout the evening; hors d’oeuvres, passed appetizers and a dessert spread.

I cannot attend, how can I make a donation to Loudoun Habitat for Humanity? We are touched that you want to contribute even though you cannot attend. Donations can be made on the registration webpage, scroll all the way to the bottom to donate.
